"Hold out your hands to feel the luxury of the sunbeams."
Friday it was so cold outside that I bundled up in my winter jacket, gloves, and hat to do the morning chores. The water spigot was frozen, and the windchill factor was bitter.
Saturday when I went outside it was 67*. I quickly shed my jacket. I filled up all the water troughs and buckets, and refilled them in the afternoon as well. We went to town and in spite of the wind, it was a very nice warm day. The sunshine was strong and bright.
Today is similar. It's still windy, but it's warm and no jacket is needed. It's hard to believe that it's over 70 in the beginning of January!
Christmas is past. The winter solstice is behind us and the days are getting longer. The new year is sprung, and spring is on the way! I know that we will have more cold days ahead, but even the Old Farmers Almanac is predicting early planting dates, so maybe the worst is over with, and green grass isn't too far away. Wouldn't that be lovely?
Till next time...
