Because we don't have trash pickup service, we are at the mercy of the weather. We can't burn our trash on windy days, and during the spring we have plenty of those. It's a case of take-advantage-of-good-weather-while-you-can. Wind, lack of rain, and hot temperatures drive up the danger of wildfires, and all rural residents try to be extra careful when conditions are poor.

Just another reason to recycle as much as possible. It truly helps to reduce the amount of garbage that needs to be dealt with.
