Although I didn't do any of the labor, we now have a level site for the new goat barn and a new driveway. The old dilapidated garage is gone, as well as the old barn roof that was hanging in a tree. Three big old trees also came down, which saddened me, but one supported that roof, another was rotten inside, and the third was just a half-tree; the other half came down a few years ago.
We had to dig up two young fruit trees and will replant them in a new, better spot as soon as it's safe to do so.
The dozer driver also leveled out and prepared a new garden site for me. After asking me what was under that pile of dirt (my compost pile), he'd asked me where my garden is. I answered that my husband's alpacas are in my fenced garden, which meant no garden for me again this year. He then took it upon himself to make a new garden spot for me. ;-) Where are my seeds? Is it too late? I will be busy next week!
