More on Shampoo

I've been using my homemade shampoo for several weeks now. I've become even happier with my hair as time has gone by.

I've used up the first bottle that I made, and I was in a hurry yesterday so used a bottle of store-bought shampoo instead of making more. As soon as I put some on my hair I was unhappy with it, and am totally sold on my own concoction! My hair feels like straw right now, and kind of looks like it too. The color is not nearly as vibrant either; I hadn't even noticed the difference in the color until that healthy shine was gone.

Since making that first batch, I've bought a few ingredients from Mountain Rose Herbs, and am ready to make more shampoo. Last night I made the rosemary and rose petal tea, and today I will finish up my new batch. The rosemary is from my spice cupboard (I can't seem to keep a plant alive), and the rose petals are from my garden.

If you haven't yet tried making your own shampoo, I recommend that you give it a try. With this simple recipe, you are just mixing ready-made ingredients, so it's very simple. Just be warned that it is different from what you are used to, but also be prepared to like the softness and shine of healthier hair.
