There is no cure for curiosity.”
~ Dorothy Parker
In the past two weeks:
- I sold several goats, so the winter feed bill is in better shape. The bucks are now out with the does for breeding, and work continues on the inside of the goat barn.
- I tried a new recipe for sweet and sour chicken. It was a canning recipe, so I cut it down to a "one meal amount" and made it for dinner. My hubby did not particularly like it, so I'm glad I did not make several quarts of it.
- "De-crystallized" honey.
- I made the Creamy Mushroom and Wild Rice Soup for dinner. My hubby asked me to make it thick rather than thin, so I added less water than the recipe directed, but it wasn't a hit with either of us.
- The pond has dried out enough that hubby could pull the crushed and mangled sheep shed out of the water. The shed was blown out of the sheep pen, over the horses' run-in shed and into the pond during a storm in January. Hiding under the muddy metal of the shed was the snake that hubby has been stalking all summer long. It's now a dead snake.
