-- Finished up the pears with a batch of Spiced Caramel Pear Jam.
-- We had our Thanksgiving dinner early in the week, to accommodate our son's work schedule. (I have great compassion for those people who work for large retail chains. Many stores opened ON THANKSGIVING DAY, our son's employer included.) I enjoyed using my mother's pie server and my grandma's Fiesta Ware gravy boat.
-- Thanksgiving Day's weather: 32°, sleet and ice pellets. The day before Thanksgiving: 80° and very humid. That was a bit of a shock to the system. I spent Wednesday getting ready. On Thanksgiving Day our old horse wore her blanket for the first time this season. Our two newest horses spooked at the sight! They've evidently not seen a horse wearing a blanket before. I was nearly rolling on the ground with laughter. And so she wouldn't think I was laughing at her, I told her they were just jealous, and how special she is to have a blanket. (And she is special.)
-- I patched the hole in the chicken yard fence. They are happy to once again have outside access. I also fixed their "front door" which came off its hinges a few weeks ago, leaving them with just their screen door. It's cold and I want to be able to close the solid door.
