My recipe is for Peanut Butter Fingers. This has been a go-to recipe in our family for several years. My youngest daughter made this for the county fair in Michigan and won Best of Show; after we moved she made it again for the 4-H Food & Craft Fair here in Oklahoma and again won Best of Show. It's a simple recipe to make and oh, so good:
PEANUT BUTTER FINGERS
Bar and Frosting:
1 cup flour
1 cup rolled oats
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 cup firmly packed brown sugar
1/2 tsp baking soda
1/4 tsp salt
1/2 cup butter, softened
1/3 cup peanut butter
1/2 tsp vanilla
6-oz pkg (1 cup) semi-sweet chocolate chips
1/3 cup powdered sugar
2 Tbsp peanut butter
3-5 tsp milk
Heat oven to 350°. Grease 9x13" pan. In a large bowl, combine all bar and frosting ingredients except chocolate chips at low speed until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Press into bottom of prepared pan.
Bake at 350° for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown. Remove from oven and sprinkle immediately with chocolate chips. Let stand 5 minutes; spread evenly.
In small bowl, combine all glaze ingredients; drizzle over chocolate frosting. Cool completely; cut into bars.
