-- I spent Monday getting ready for the snowstorm on Tuesday. I spent Tuesday trying to get the chores done. Wednesday things were a little better, but I spent the afternoon helping hubby try to get the vehicles "out". Then we spent Thursday trying to get the vehicles "out". And I learned a few more lessons (post coming soon).
-- The last time I pressure-canned chicken, I also canned one jar of ground beef, my first attempt at this. This week I opened that jar and made chili. The texture in the jar was a bit like meatloaf, but I broke it up and it tasted fine in the chili. It's nice to have options in storing meats. I'll definitely can up some more.
-- Made more bread mixes. It's so easy and doesn't take much time at all. I reused the quart-size Ziploc bags on which I'd put labels with "what to add". To make bread I add water to my breadmaker, pour in the premade mix, add oil and yeast, and select the Dough cycle. When it's finished, I knead it, shape it, let it rise in my mother's glass loaf pan that I brought home after my dad passed away, and bake. Hubby asked if I was making a cake or something. ~smile~ So I made him a cheesecake from a boxed mix the next day.
