Friday Follow-Up

This week:

-- Hubby and I spent Tuesday at the 4-H District Horse Show watching "my kids" compete. I went to take pictures, and my camera malfunctioned! About half of my shots turned out, and of those, most were blurry because it was so dark in the [thankfully air-conditioned] arena. It was a good day in spite of that; I always enjoy cheering them on and they did a great job.

-- We had heavy rain for most of the day on Wednesday, and lighter rain continued through the night and into Thursday morning. I am so thankful that we have been blessed with enough rain so far this year. The hay crop has been abundant and the prices are back to normal for the most part after last year's drought.

-- The peaches and plums are turning ripe. I love them right off the tree, sun-warm and so good. I've been slicing peaches on my morning yogurt, and also added some store-bought raspberries.

-- I started a new project:

-- I cleaned out the drawers in the dresser for our granddaughter's upcoming visit. I'm so glad I had the opportunity a few weeks ago to clean and rearrange "her" room, and that it's ready for her arrival.

-- The goats are now all getting the weekly dose of herbal wormer I was using last year. At first I was mixing the powder with water and shooting it into their mouths with a needleless syringe, but now I'm mixing it with molasses to make medicine balls. The kids aren't yet crazy about it - I have to open their mouths and pop it in - but I'm optimistic that soon they will take them like candy, like my old girls did.

How was your week?
