Away from Home

I spent the past week out of state visiting two of our daughters and their husbands, one of our granddaughters (the one that visits us each summer), and our new grandson (our youngest's first baby). Hubby fed the livestock for me, and I flew for the first time since 2002.

Daughters and our grandson at granddaughter's soccer practice.
The new mommy is on the right.

I landed at the tiny airport where my daughter and grandson were waiting for me. Baby H gave me an adorable smile.

Five days flew by in a whirlwind of activity.
We celebrated both girls' birthdays.

One son-in-law suggested we drive to the town
where hubby used to pastor a small church.

He stopped whenever I wanted to take pictures,

and even suggested we drive out to a lake for more photo ops.

Then it was time to fly back home.
It was too short, but I am so thankful that I was able to go.

I was the next-to-last one in line to go through security at the tiny airport for the return trip.

The only person behind me was another new grandma, who was leaving her 6-day-old granddaughter. We both waited till the last minute to leave our daughters and grandbabies.

Going home can be hard, but it's also good to be back home again.
