A Slice of My Life: After the Storm

After the storm...

Those of you in other parts of the country might laugh that we got four or five inches of snow, but for Oklahoma that's a good storm. Round Two is supposed to hit today, with snow and ice pellets. Round Three will arrive on Thursday, more snow and rain. Our state pretty much closes up after a snowstorm; we just don't have the snow removal equipment to deal with it, and of course they don't come plow our little country road. Sometimes our neighbor will run his tractor up and down the road.

Ella is convinced I have a treat for her whenever she sees me. Sometimes she's right.

February 2nd, Groundhog Day, marked the middle of winter,
halfway between the winter solstice and the first day of spring.

I'm so ready for spring. How about you?

Your photos are beautiful. Hope you didn't get too much snow today. We got hit fairly hard with another storm rumored to come on Sunday. Oh boy!! :)

Staci, we had ice yesterday, and snow flurries today. Round Three is coming tonight and tomorrow. What a winter this has been! I hope your snow melts fast!

Grandma Barb, this has been quite a winter, hasn't it? It seems like it hasn't skipped anyone anywhere!

Here in Michigan we've been repeatedly hammered with snow. I can see where it's hard to deal with if you don't have the proper equiptment, but around here it's just a way of life. I like to say I was born here, so I don't know any better ;) Linked up behind you (a couple) at the HomeAcre Hop.

Lisa, we moved here from Michigan. I feel for you all this winter! Been there, done that; it's not fun.

I am more than ready for Spring! Let's hope it comes quickly :) Glad to see/hear that the storm passed quickly and with minimal damage. The light dusting on your property is so beautiful and I love seeing the horses have fun in the snow. Too cute!

My husband is a horseshoer and he doesn't go out in the rain (or snow) or if its below 40. The last few weeks we have stayed home most of the time!! I live in East Texas and moved here from Michigan, so yes, I have seen worse weather but it does make everything come to a grinding halt down here!

We moved here from Michigan as well, Tamara. Up there, life goes on in spite of the weather, but I rather like having snow days. :-)
