-- I found one of my roosters pretending to be a duck. He seemed to be swimming in the goats' water tub. Evidently he'd been on the edge getting a drink and fell in the water. He was unable to get himself out, so I went in the pen and rescued him. I was still wondering how and why he was floating, but instead he was standing on his tiptoes! It was a good thing I found him and helped him out. The water was cold, and eventually he would have been too tired to continue standing up and I'm sure he would have drowned. When I was a child we often found drowned chickens in the water troughs at my grandparents' horse ranch.
