  5. I just got stung by two of those 1 1/2 weeks ago. The swelling went half-way up my arm. Never had a reaction like that before. It took almost 3 days for the swelling to go down.

  6. Oh Kris, how painful! One is bad enough, but to be stung by two! I think their sting is as bad as a scorpion's, and I've been told that their venom is very similar. I'm sorry your reaction was so bad.

  8. Can't say I've ever seen a Red Wasp in person but it sure looks cool and menacing. Not my favorite insect but fascinating none the less.

  9. I consider you lucky to have not seen one in person, Ida. They are distinctively red even in flight. That said, they are interesting to look at and study. A photo can't sting!
