Friday Follow-Up

This week:

Up until this week, I've been collecting 5-6 eggs a day, a good number from my eight older pullets (four black sex-links, two Dominques and two speckled Sussex). Wednesday there were nine eggs in the nest boxes, which means one of the younger buff Orpington girls has begun laying too. It was an egg-citing day!

We've had several days in the 70's and even the 80's this week. The winds have been fierce and we have extreme fire danger. We have green grass in some spots, and the henbit and shepherd's purse are blooming already.

I've joined up with the other Our Simple Homestead co-hosts for a "homesteading giveaway". We each donated items to make a whole package of homesteading goodness. The giveaway will run until March 3rd, but don't wait too long to enter - just go here and use the Rafflecopter entry widget.

My Friday Find:

Did you know you can share an Oak Hill Homestead post with just a click? Look at the bottom left of any post and you'll see some small icons just above the comments section.

The icons are smaller than in the picture above. I wish I could make them bigger, but I can't. It can take a sharp eye to find them, but when you do, just click on the icon of your choice to share the post. If you enjoy what you're reading, please share on social media. Sharing is always appreciated!

My hope is to inspire you, and to encourage your homesteading plans and your dreams of a
simple, self-reliant, God-dependent life. You can follow me at:
