Friday Follow-Up

This week:

One of the plum trees began blooming. This dwarf tree was the first to produce fruit after we planted half a dozen trees the autumn after we moved here, and it's always the first to bloom every spring. As soon as the blossoms appeared, I could hear the buzzing of bees and other pollinators.

Our farm dog Cracker has disappeared. He'd been wandering and only coming home at the evening feeding for several days, and then one day he just didn't show up. We tell each other that he's found a home he likes better; it's easier than thinking that he tangled with a mountain lion or the black bear I've been told about.
