Friday Follow-Up



This week:


The hens have really enjoyed their outdoor run this week. I opened their pop door every day for weeks but they weren't brave enough to go outside until I finally got the ramp to the door installed. The next evening when I went out to feed they were all outside enjoying the sunshine and they had decimated the weeds that had grown up in the run. It's fun listening to them gossip and giggle while they're outside.

Evidently they are extremely happy because for the past three days they've laid a total of 13 eggs each day. I have 14 hens, so 13 eggs is a high number.

Just for fun - or maybe a homeschool art project. As a teenager I used to enjoy drawing horses the way Sam Savitt taught in Western Horseman magazine. I couldn't wait to borrow my granddad's latest issue. This isn't by Sam Savitt, but if you're like me and never really outgrew being horse-crazy, check this out: How to Draw a Realistic Horse.
