Friday Follow-Up

This week...

-- Put another 1.5 quarts of plum puree and 2.5 cups of juice into the freezer, to be canned in some form or other at a later date.

-- We replaced the fence on the north side of the front yard. We had to take this fence down for the garage demolition and the building of the goat barn.

-- Three of our goats went to a new home. A 4-H member has been working for me in return for a dairy yearling, plus she bought K's boer twin kids. Our county fair is in two months, so it was time for them to go to their new home so she can work with them daily and get them ready.

-- The dehydrator is currently drying cucumber slices. Half are dusted with ranch dressing mix; the other half is sprinkled with a salt-dill mix.

  1. I have never thought of dehydrating cucumbers! Have you done it before? How did you use them?

  2. This is the first time I have tried to dry cucumbers. I was given several so thought I'd try it. Supposedly they are very good for snacking as chips when you sprinkle them with garlic powder, onion powder, or ranch dressing mix.
