Come Into My Parlor...

It's that time of year. The black and yellow garden spiders show up in August. Their webs have a zig-zag line in the middle that reminds me of a zipper. This one (above) is in the metal horse-feed trough we no longer use.

This one is hanging from a tree, and was facing the other direction so we have a view of his/her underside.

There was another on the front of the house the other day, where it can catch the bugs attracted by the porch light.

This one made its web against the horses' lean-to a few years ago. I think this is the first year we've had these spiders in the barnyard and near the house.
