Over the past two weeks:
-- We sold the sheep flock.
-- I milked seven goats twice a day for a friend while she was out of town for three days.
-- We began tearing down an old shed, one of the many that are slated for destruction around here. This is the building that I used to use as a goat barn until the roof blew off in a storm last January, which led to the new goat barn. (That storm was truly a blessing in disguise! I am SO thankful for the goat barn!)
-- Our horse July is escaping again. We haven't been able to find his "hole", but eventually we will figure it out and fix it, and he'll stay put again for awhile.
Just wanted to thank you for taking over the milking for us so we could get away. It was a real treat to be able to visit my daughter and her family, and it wouldn't have been possible without you.
ReplyDeleteWill you get more sheep or are you done with having sheep? Sounds like a super busy week!
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed having the sheep, especially the lambs, but I discovered I don't like the taste of lamb. And since that's why they were here - to produce meat for the freezer - we couldn't justify the expense of feeding them. I won't say we'll never have sheep again, but they're not in our plans for now.
ReplyDeleteYou're welcome, Melody. I hope you had a great visit!
