A Slice of My Life

Yesterday I found our first pullet egg from the chicks our friends gave us. It was a tiny green egg, and felt so weightless, I had to dunk it in the horse trough out of curiosity - it floated. Once in the house, I cracked it open to look inside. Most pullet eggs I've broken before have had no yolk, but this one did: a tiny pea-sized yolk. Photographed next to a regular size egg, you can see how tiny this one was.

    Yeah, I've noticed that a lot with pullet eggs. Rare to have a yolk. That's nice. I think we've had maybe one that was like that... it's so seldom.
