Friday Follow-Up

This week:

-- I found a two-inch-long green pepper on one of the plants.

-- We've had our first red tomato! The one in this photo has changed to that yellow-green color that precedes orange which precedes red, but two others changed color first. They are both on the counter to finish ripening; I didn't want to chance losing them to a rabbit or something. I can't wait to taste them!

-- We bought our winter's supply of square bales of hay. This should feed my four young goats all winter. Unfortunately, losing the barn also meant we lost our hay storage place. We've had to figure out where to put this so it will stay dry. It's not a convenient place, but at least it's snug and dry. For the moment, the hay is still on our trailer and is well tarped.

-- Sadly, our pyrenees dog lost her struggle with tick fever and passed away this week. This has surely been a hard year.
