In the past I've written about the beautiful Oklahoma skies. I've always concentrated on the sunsets; the sky as the sun drops behind the ridge, often with storm clouds or sometimes smoke in the air, can be breathtaking, and I'm down the hill at the horse barn when the sun sets, so that's my view.

But lately, due to the extreme heat (so I'm feeding earlier than usual) and a change in where I keep the feed, I've been in the front yard as the sun comes up. Sometimes the sky is bland and blue, cloudless, but some mornings the light is amazing, and ever-changing as the sun climbs.

Last week we had one of those mornings. I'd like to share the wonder of that new day with you.

Mornings when there are clouds in the sky are ones that often turn out to be dramatic.

I'm so glad that I stopped what I was doing, and stood on the porch to watch the changing sky as the sun reached toward the horizon.

The sunbeams spread from the horizon to the heavens.

The heavens declare the glory
of God; the skies proclaim
the work of His hands.
Psalm 19:1 (NIV1984)
