Blog Birthday, Day 1 - Eight Most Popular Posts

Welcome to Day One of my Blog Birthday! This week the Oak Hill Homestead blog turns eight years old. To celebrate, I'm running a week-long series of "eights".

Today I'm sharing my top eight most popular posts, according to Blogger's statistics. Have you read them all? Hopefully you'll find something that interests you.

Starting with #8, here they are:

8.  Make Your Own: Corn Muffin Mix
We enjoy those little boxes of Jiffy corn muffin mix,
but like every other processed food, those boxes contain preservatives
and other ingredients we'd prefer not to eat.
This make-ahead mix makes delicious corn muffins without the added ingredients.

7.  How to Boil Ground Beef, and Why You Should
Get rid of the fat and the splatters.

6.  Sweet Dreams
This one is a Pinterest favorite and was featured on Apartment Therapy.

I've since written another post on no-sew kid coats;
I think it's an easier process but this one is still more popular.

4. Working on the Goat Barn
How we built the first stall in the goat barn.
Less than two years later, we lost the barn in a fire.

This one went viral on Pinterest.

2. Perennial Tomatoes
My two-year-old tomato plants didn't make it through this past winter,
but this fall I'll be taking cuttings and doing it again.

This post has always been my most-viewed.
If you google "how to bale hay by hand" this is #3 in the results, with two YouTube videos above it.
It has been posted on forums and bulletin boards countless times,
and it also has the most comments of any of my posts.
These days - we've gotten older! - our neighbor bales our hayfield on shares,
but the hand baler is still in our barn in case it's ever needed again.

I'm thankful for each and every one of you who made these posts popular.
