Blog Birthday, Day 5 - My Eight Favorite Posts

Welcome to Day Five of my Blog Birthday! On Monday, May 12th, the Oak Hill Homestead blog will be eight years old. To celebrate, I'm running a week-long series of "eights".

Today, I'm sharing my eight personal favorite posts. The first couple of years of posts were mostly text posts, with a few mediocre-quality photos sprinkled here and there. As I read through the long list of published posts (nearly 2,000 of them), I realized that many of my favorites are old ones, stories of funny or poignant things that happened here on Oak Hill, but that don't have photos accompanying them. 

Some of these have good photos, some have little photos, and some have no photos. I hope that won't stop you from reading them. Here they are, in no particular order:
