Friday Follow-Up

This week:

-- Yesterday I stood at the kitchen sink doing the lunch dishes. Outside the window, our dwarf apple tree was full of bright red cardinals perched on the leafless branches, so many that I was reminded of a Christmas tree with red ornaments. What a fun sight!

-- My blue and white male cat is determined to be an indoor cat, much to my husband's dismay. Bullet is an outside cat, one of several that keep the rodent population down. He sneaks in the house when the dogs come back inside, literally hiding underneath them as they come through the door. Once indoors, he takes a nap on a dining room chair for awhile, then we put him back outside. A few hours later he's back in the house. He's gotten rather sure of himself in the past week: now he brazenly sleeps on the couch, which Colby, the orange cat in the picture, doesn't think is funny at all. I admit I do think it's funny.

-- This week's posts included How to Make Pie Crust and 10 Gifts for the Homestead Woman.

-- Just a reminder that next week the HomeAcre Hop is taking a Christmas break. We'll be back on New Year's Day.  (NOTE: All HomeAcre Hop posts have been deleted.)

  1. My sister's semi-dwarf peach tree was full of cardinals a couple weeks ago, too! It was a lot of fun to watch.

*giggles* Bullet makes me think of my cat Tabby (he sadly passed away a little over a year ago after a short, rough battle with kidney disease), but Tabby would try to get OUT. Almost every morning at my parent's house, he would line up with the dogs waiting to go out.

It was usually only after one counted "One... two... three... wait. We don't three dogs. Dang it, Tabby, not again!" that we would realize what happened.

Rebekah, I'm sorry that you lost your Tabby, but what a fun memory of him for you to cherish. Tabby wanted OUT, Bullet wants IN.
