A Slice of My Life

Henbit is the first of the wildflowers to bloom in the spring
here at Oak Hill. They are tiny purple gems in the dead grass.
Eventually it will look like a carpet of purple but for now there are just
a few flowers here and there. You must look closely to see their tiny
spotted throats.

My hope is to inspire you, and to encourage your homesteading plans and your dreams of a simple, self-reliant, God-dependent life. You can follow me at:

  1. Thanks for the info. I've always had that in the yard and never knew what the name was.

Kris, I like knowing the names of things, don't you? Henbit is a pretty little flower, or weed as most people call it.

    Kelly, thank you!

  3. They are lovely and look like baby Iris to me! :)

They're rather exotic-looking when you get up close, aren't they?
