A Slice of My Life

Near the end of July when the weather is scorching hot and dry, there are few wildflowers to provide nectar for the butterflies. Ironweed is one that blooms late; I pull weeds and mow around it, waiting impatiently for the small flowers to open. It's not much of a looker but I let it grow so the butterflies have food.

My hope is to inspire you, and to encourage your homesteading plans and your dreams of a simple, self-reliant, God-dependent life. You can follow me at:

  1. When I went walking with the dogs a couple of days ago I noticed this blooming in our one field. I never knew the name and thought it was very pretty. Thanks for the info. It's the little things like this that make reading blogs so much fun!

  2. Me too, Kris! Isn't it fun to read a blog, find a photo, and think, "so that's what that is!" Thank you for sharing that!
