The apple trees bloomed last week; their sweet-smelling flowers bring the swallowtail butterflies.

I live in Southeast Oklahoma and grow most of my herbs outside. They survive the winter without any attention. I have oregano, thyme, rosemary, walking onions, mints, sage, garlic, stevia and lemon balm. They are planted in the ground in beds. The lemon balm and stevia does die back but puts out fresh in the spring. Pat B.
ReplyDeleteI have the same herbs planted outside as Pat, and I live in southeastern Oklahoma, too. I haven't tried Stevia outside, though, because I figured it would die out. Now, I'll have to try overwintering it as well. It's always nice to learn something new! Thank you.

Mine are in pots so I was hesitant to leave them outside over the winter. I recently talked to a friend who grows hers in large tubs and overwinters them outside in central OK.
