A Slice of My Life

We are resting easier now that we have our winter hay
in the hayshed. The friend we usually buy our hay from had a fire
in her hayfield this summer, but she sourced some for us from
her neighbor and even went with us yesterday to pick it up in the field.

We've had so much rain this year that ranchers are now working on a second cutting
- and in some cases, a third. We allow a little extra time when we're driving
somewhere, because we are sure to be behind a tractor pulling a cutter or a rake.
In another day or two we'll be following trailers of
square or round bales. Everyone waves. Everyone is smiling.
The hay is in. It's been a good year.

My hope is to inspire you, and to encourage your homesteading plans and your dreams
of a simple, self-reliant, God-dependent life. Join me here:
