Simple Homestead blog hop #221

Welcome to the Simple Homestead blog hop!

Welcome! Do you look forward to Thursdays when we get together for another linky party as much as I do? I'm sure you'll be blessed and inspired by all the great posts and ideas that have been shared this week.

Add your homesteading, homemaking and homeschooling posts to the party if you're a blogger (please see our simple rules below). The hop begins at 12:01 am on Thursday morning and runs through Sunday evening.

This Week

It's one of those years when the garden hasn't been terribly successful. The overabundance of rain in the spring, the very hot and dry summer, and my health combined in a perfect storm. I did manage to keep it watered and for now it's still producing some food, but the insects are plentiful, they're causing a lot of damage and it's too hard to fight them in this heat.

The latest infestation is blister beetles. Here's what they are, the damage they can do, and how you can fight them organically.
