Simple Homestead blog hop #280

Simple Homestead blog hop - gardening, homesteading, homemaking and simple living

Welcome to the Simple Homestead blog hop!

Welcome to our latest weekly blog hop. If you love simple living, frugal tips, gardening, preserving food, cooking from scratch and maybe a few chicken stories thrown in, you're sure to find something that will entertain and inspire you each week!

Add your posts to the party if you're a blogger (please see our simple rules below). The hop begins at 12:01 am on Thursday morning and runs through Sunday evening.

This Week

We've had chickens for what seems like forever, nearly twenty years now. We even moved our hens with us from Michigan to Oklahoma when we relocated to Oak Hill.

One of the questions I had that first winter was whether or not my chickens needed a heat lamp. Now that I'm a long-time chicken owner I'm sharing what I've learned about caring for chickens in the winter with you.
