Today I'm roasting pumpkins. Funny, isn't it, how pumpkins are suddenly worthless on November 1st? I won't pay that ridiculous price in October, but come November I can find them for very cheap and sometimes even for free.

I started off with the little one this morning; cut it into pieces and placed it skin side up in a baking dish with some water in it. Baked it at 350* for about an hour, then let it cool and peeled the skin off. While it cooled I started on the bigger one. I can only bake half of it at a time, so the first half is in the oven now, and the second will follow when this one is finished and is cooling.

Pumpkin pie and pumpkin bread are in our future... And I make a terrific pumpkin soap too.
